Samoan Seal

The Seal of American Samoa is based in traditional local design. The fue (fly switch), represents wisdom. The To'oto'o (staff) represents authority. Both of these symbols are used by talking chiefs to indicate their rank. The Tanoa (kava bowl) represents service to the chief. The Samoan motto, Samoa Muamua Le Atua is translated Samoa, Let God Be First.
